Harvey then served as an officer in the Australian Army (Intelligence Corps) before moving into film and television with some success.

From Wonder World to Willesee, Harvey produced over 3,000 hours of top rating national television, filming throughout Australia and overseas. He also worked on feature films, and video, including hosting the national radio show Videobiz. He also produced two films, and two non-fiction books. His awards include 5 Logies, 2 AFIs, 2 Nagoya Festival Awards and various other commendations and awards.
